Why our communities need Reading Intervention.
There are too many people, adults and children, who cannot read well enough to be full participants in their jobs, schools, and society. There are too many discouraged educators who need support and encouragement while teaching in an ever-changing, complicated world. The charts on this page show the 2022 - 2023 research and statistics with links to learn more. There is a problem and we want to participate in the solution!
We meet three immediate needs:
1. providing accessible and affordable, evidence-based, structured literacy reading intervention to help struggling readers reach their full potential.
2. linking highly trained tutors with student-neighbors who in most cases could not have previously afforded or accessed high quality, professional tutoring.
3. facilitating support networks through which teachers and tutors are encouraged and inspired to love their neighbors in their educational communities as they do the valuable work of teaching.

Our Vision
We envision all struggling readers, no matter where they live or who they are, receiving cutting edge, research-based structured literacy tutoring that supports the student’s individual needs as a loved “neighbor”.
We envision well paid, professional, highly trained and motivated reading tutors providing quality tutoring in libraries, schools, adult recovery programs and correctional facilities, etc.
We envision tutors and students mutually growing and learning through their tutoring relationship.
We envision educators inspired and encouraged through peer support and professional support in loving community.
